GPP - Receptionist / GP Administrator at NHS Scotland
Location: Markinch Medical Practice, 19 High Street, Markinch, Fife, KY7 6ER
Hours: 30 per week, Monday to Friday
Job Overview
We are currently looking to expand our team and are recruiting an enthusiastic and dependable Receptionist / Administrator to support our primary care services.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a friendly and professional telephone and in‑person service, communicating with patients, staff and NHS colleagues.
* Prioritise and manage workload in a busy reception and office environment.
* Work under pressure, adapt to unpredictable situations, and maintain flexibility while upholding patient confidentiality.
* Process prescriptions and various documents, and book or cancel appointments.
* Support the Clinical Team in delivering Primary Care services.
Required Skills and Experience
* Excellent telephone manner and face‑to‑face communication skills.
* Good collaborator with the ability to prioritise tasks.
* Experience in general practice (including EMIS and Docman) is an advantage but not essential; full training will be provided.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure, adapt, and maintain patient confidentiality.
