Four Elms Medical Centre is seeking a highly motivatedand compassionate Salaried GP to join our friendly / Supportive andforward-thinking team. This post is for 6 sessions a week ( 3 Days ) working acrossboth our Newport and Cardiff sites.
We are a well-established, forward-thinking practicesupporting a 25,000 patient list shared over three sites. One site located inthe Cardiff Royal infirmary, Another in Pengam Green Cardiff and also inRingland, Newport. All surgeries are located just off M4 corridor withexcellent transport links to Cardiff centre and Bristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking for afulfilling role within a strong clinical MDT setting, and the chance to becomea long-term member of our thriving practice at this exciting and changing timein our General Practice.
Main duties of the job
Clinical responsibilities:
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, thepost-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties,including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visitingpatients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing withqueries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation topresenting problems, whether self referred or referred from other health careworkers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and earlysigns of illness
Developing care plans for health in consultation withpatients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
Providing counselling and health education
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes toagreed standards
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeatprescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribingformulary, or generically, whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertakeall the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working withinprimary care.

Experience
* Experience of working within a busy practice alongside a multi-disciplinary team
Qualifications
* Medical Degree - Qualified GP, completed GP Specialist Training
* GP Trainer
