As a small independent restaurant we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the hospitality industry, particularly in restaurant management. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a passion for food preparation, and the ability to maintain high standards of service and food safety. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the establishment while fostering a positive environment for both staff and customers.
Duties
* Assist in overseeing daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Supervise kitchen staff and front-of-house team, providing guidance and support to enhance performance.
* Manage food preparation and production processes, ensuring quality and consistency in all dishes served.
* Implement training programmes for new employees, focusing on culinary skills, food safety, and customer service excellence.
* Maintain inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to ensure availability of ingredients and supplies.
* Collaborate with the General Manager to develop menus that reflect current trends and customer preferences.
* Monitor customer feedback and address any concerns promptly to enhance guest satisfaction.
* Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and conflict resolution strategies.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or restaurant sector.
* Strong culinary experience with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
* Previous experience in serving or barista roles is advantageous.
* Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food production and service.
* A background in restaurant management or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
