Are you a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional looking to play a key role in supporting your local community? We’re looking for a proactive Revenues Officer to join our friendly and dedicated Revenues and Benefits team. This is a great opportunity to use your accuracy, problem-solving skills, and customer service expertise to help ensure fair and efficient collection of Council Tax and Business Rates across our district.
What you’ll be doing
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date Council Tax and Business Rates records
* Dealing with enquiries from the public, colleagues, and external organisations
* Providing accurate advice and guidance within the relevant legislation
* Recording and managing customer information with attention to detail
* Working collaboratively to meet performance targets and service standards
This role offers the chance to develop a strong understanding of local government revenues, with plenty of scope to grow your skills in a supportive and professional environment.
What we’re looking for?
Essential:
* A minimum of 5 qualifications equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (including Maths and English)
* High attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem‑solving
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A customer-focused approach with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
* Ability to manage time effectively and meet performance-related targets
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft and Google applications
* Ability to build strong customer relationships and maintain accurate records
Desirable:
* Relevant recognised qualification
* Experience of working in a Revenues or debt‑recovery environment
* Knowledge of Council Tax and/or Business Rates legislation and practices
* Experience working within local government
Special conditions
* This role may require occasional travel to other Publica Group (Support) Ltd or client locations to meet business needs
* You may be required to work reasonable additional hours in line with service needs
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential
