Overview
There are a number of volunteering opportunities offered by Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust at both Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary’s Hospital, at Sidcup. Volunteers help support the hospital in numerous different ways, assisting clinical staff on wards, meeting and greeting, as well as assisting office-based staff with admin tasks. Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week. Subject to satisfactory references, Criminal Records Bureau checks, Occupational Health clearance and an informal interview, we will invite you to join our volunteers. You will complete our training programme and then move onto specific placements at the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Assist clinical staff on wards and in various hospital settings.
* Meet and greet patients, visitors and staff.
* Assist office-based staff with administrative tasks.
* Commit to a minimum of 3 hours of volunteering each week.
Requirements
* Interpersonal skills to engage with people from all walks of life.
* Ability to learn quickly and apply new information.
* Problem solving and the ability to suggest improvements to processes.
* Good written and verbal communication.
* Ability to liaise at all levels within the organisation.
* Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
* Subject to satisfactory references, CRB checks, Occupational Health clearance and an informal interview.
