As our new Analytical Chemist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality analytical services across the Scott Bader Group, supporting multiple sites and internal teams. You'll contribute to maintaining product quality and performance by carrying out materials testing and ensuring accurate, timely results.
In addition, you’ll be responsible for managing a variety of analytical tasks to support global business operations and key R&D projects. This includes selecting the most appropriate testing methods, interpreting complex data, and providing valuable insights to drive innovation and improvement.
Some of your key responsibilities:
* Deliver analytical testing and materials analysis to support global business operations, R&D projects, and customer requirements.
* Select and apply appropriate analytical techniques, interpret results, and develop new test methods when needed.
* Maintain accurate reporting and communication with internal and external stakeholders, following quality and compliance standards.
* Support and deputise for the Senior Analytical Chemist, contribute to team development, and stay informed on advancements in analytical science.
What do I need to be successful in this role?
* Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry, or significant hands-on experience in an analytical laboratory with data interpretation skills.
* Proven experience using and interpreting data from techniques such as IR, GC, GC-MS, GPC, HPLC, NMR, DSC, ICP, or LC-MS.
* Strong data analysis skills with the ability to accurately record, monitor, and interpret results to deliver meaningful conclusions.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and lookups) and other Microsoft Office applications.
* Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across all levels.
