This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Occupational Therapist to work in a busy Recovery team in South Gloucestershire. The role entails providing meaningful occupation interventions, running groups, being a key worker, carrying out assessments and some job retention work.
Main duties of the job
* To contribute to planning, delivery and evaluation of Occupational Therapy Interventions as a member of a Multi- Disciplinary Team.
* To provide post discharge follow up for patients where an OT has already been doing specific work whilst in hospital e.g. to continue the assessment of function or specific interventions such aspractical coping strategies, confidence building in re-establishing roles and routines liaising with other occupational therapists to ensure a smooth transition.
* To undertake specialist occupational therapy functional assessments in the home and community environment. Promoting engagement in local community, with supervision and advice from more senior OT's were necessary.
* To identify support mechanisms required for the service user to practically manage safely at home.
* To undertake specialist assessments of executive functioning i.e. cognitive ability to organise and manage occupational activities at home.
* To plan interventions that facilitate the service user's ability to meet their individual aspirations in self-care, leisure and productivity working collaboratively with them.
* To explore within a collaborative framework the therapeutic of use of time in relation to building on existing capacity and strengths.
* To provide psycho educational interventions for service users and carers (anxiety management, anger management etc) individually or in groups.

* To contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of defined, non-profession specific specialist therapeutic interventions.
This might include:
* Individual or group therapeutic intervention.
* Psychological treatments such as CBT, DBT approaches, family interventions.
* Psychosocial interventions.
* Motivational and coping enhancement strategies.
