Job Description
The Pre-Construction Manager is primarily responsible for managing one or multiple projects during the preconstruction stage, with a supporting role in ongoing projects as required. They will liaise with the Pre-Construction Director and the team regarding upcoming projects, assisting in planning and programme delivery.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the preconstruction process for assigned projects.
2. Ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to construction, maintaining strong relationships with clients, designers, architects, and the project team.
3. Manage bid processes and review negotiated tenders.
4. Deliver client presentations in collaboration with Business Development.
5. Plan preconstruction activities and project-specific setups.
6. Coordinate with the estimating team during different phases such as programming, schematic design, and design development.
7. Verify tender and design compliance with specifications and employer requirements.
8. Participate in early planning meetings with clients.
9. Coordinate preconstruction and cost planning inputs.
10. Assist with pricing adjustments as needed.
11. Support site-based project managers and management teams.
12. Review and contribute to project progress reports.
13. Negotiate subcontract packages and major procurement activities.
14. Develop commissioning and testing plans with project teams.
15. Assist in project handover and closeout processes.
Qualifications
1. Extensive experience in preconstruction or related roles.
2. Proficiency in Trimble/Amtech estimating software.
3. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical installations.
4. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
5. Understanding of health and safety regulations.
