Hours: 45 Hours per Week 7/8am starts | 5 Days out of 7
Blue Arrow are recruiting for an experienced and driven Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a prestigious spa and hotel destination in Staffordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong chef looking to step into a key leadership role within a high-quality, fast-paced environment.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional standards while supporting and developing the wider team.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring service runs smoothly while maintaining consistency, quality and efficiency. You will step up to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence and act as a key figure within the team.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and deputising when required
Leading, motivating and developing the kitchen team to maintain high performance
Ensuring all dishes meet expected standards in quality, consistency and presentation
Contributing to menu development using fresh, seasonal ingredients
Managing stock, placing orders and maintaining relationships with suppliers
Overseeing deliveries and ensuring quality control of all produce
Assisting with rotas, staffing levels and kitchen organisation
Monitoring waste and supporting cost control measures
Ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP and COSHH regulations
Completing temperature checks and maintaining cleaning schedules
Handling guest feedback professionally in the absence of the Head Chef
About You
We are looking for a confident Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to take the next step.
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP in a busy kitchen
Passion for fresh, seasonal food and high-quality delivery
Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and inspire others
Organised, proactive and calm under pressure
Excellent attention to detail and time management
Solid knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance
Flexible approach to working hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
