Our client is a fast growing, Manchester based business in the consumer goods and retail sector. With continued expansion across UK and international markets, they are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller to take ownership of their credit function and support further growth.
The Role
As Senior Credit Controller, you will play a key role in managing the company's credit risk and ensuring healthy cash flow. You'll oversee the end to end credit control process, working closely with both internal teams and external customers to drive performance, reduce aged debt, and improve processes.
£25 - £28 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the full credit control function, including setting and reviewing credit limits, chasing overdue accounts, and allocating payments.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders.
3. Lead on the preparation of aged debt reports and cash flow forecasts for management.
4. Resolve complex or escalated queries efficiently, maintaining a professional approach at all times.
5. Support month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
6. Drive process improvements within the credit control and accounts receivable function.
7. Mentor and support junior members of the finance team as the department grows.
About you
8. Proven experience as a Senior Credit Controller or Credit Control Lead in a fast paced, product based business (FMCG, retail, wholesale, or manufacturing).
9. Strong understanding of credit risk management, debtor reporting, and cash collection.
10. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a confident and professional telephone manner.
11. High attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
