This role involves operating and maintaining boring machines to produce precision aircraft components within specified limits. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience with machining processes, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate all types of boring machines to fine limits.
* Work on own initiative.
* Read and understand technical drawings.
* Take responsibility for work and others.
* Understand types of horizontal boring practices.
* Measure in imperial units.
* Work in accordance with company procedures and regulations.
* Maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
* Train personnel within specified areas, subject to qualifications and experience.
Job Requirements:
* Machining background essential.
* Experience with horizontal boring machines desirable.
* Understanding of IT and machine shop technology.
* Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
* Good communication skills in written and spoken English.
* Capability to perform under pressure.
* Aerospace background preferable but not essential.
