Assistant Client Accountant
Job Description Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Assistant Client Accountant to join our team in Birmingham. This role will provide essential support across day-to-day financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions, maintaining records, and assisting with reconciliations and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
* Assist the Senior and or Client Accountants with Client delivery or own a set of smaller Client instructions.
* Preparing and issuing month-end and year-end reporting in line with internal processes and the signed Client PMA.
* Support the team with resolution of any Client reporting queries and join any regular accounting calls with Clients.
* Assisting in the preparation of VAT returns and audit support documentation as well as VAT reconciliations.
* Preparing and issuing funding requests to Clients ensuring funding is reconiled at all times.
* Preparing and arranging the transfer of income collected on behalf of our Clients.
* Supporting completion of service charge year ends, cash reconciliations and budgets.
* Contributing to the mobilisation of new Client instructions and the handing over of ex-instructions.
* Supporting with the resolution of any unallocated cash resolved to ensure prompt posting to the accounting system.
* Raising tenant payable invoices ensuring all recharges are raised.
* Performing billing reconciliations to ensure income raised in line with lease obligations
* Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve queries
* Providing general support to the wider finance team as required
Skills & Experience
* Prior experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar role
* Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g. Yardi, Tramps, or similar)
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
* AAT/accounting qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
