Nurses are required to provide safe, high quality services for the public, and support improvements in the critical care environment so that the safety and quality of care is continually enhanced. The critical care environment is a constantly changing field with emerging technologies and therapies to aid patient recovery through the often life-threatening illness. Nurses need to ensure they develop and maintain competence in practice to meet the challenges presented.

As a Band 5 Registered Nurse, you will join the ICU Nursing team delivering expert care to patients requiring interventional therapies to manage critical illness. You’ll get to work closely with a multi-professional team, liaising with other services and departments within the Trust.
We’d love to hear from Registered Nurses with a broad and sound clinical knowledge and ideally experienced in caring for acutely ill patients.
Our ICU
Our adult ICU contains beds and cares for around 1, patients per year, including emergency and elective work. We receive paediatric admissions, managing the care of children before they are transferred to the specialist ICU at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
The department is led by a very accessible and hands on management team, who ensure the highest standards for care are provided to our most critical of patients. They welcome innovative ways of working and place staff wellbeing as a high priority.

The department is supported by a dedicated Practice Educator Team, and the wider clinical skills team. The department has specific training requirements and will support you to complete the online accredited adult ICU and the Care of a paediatric Patient in an adult ICU courses.
Working Pattern: hours, shift pattern involves working weekdays/weekends/Nights/ bank holidays
