The role :

To lead and drive the company’s sales strategy, overseeing the development of new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and ensuring the achievement of revenue and growth targets. This role is a succession position, preparing the individual to transition into the full Sales Director role.


Duties within the role :

* Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s long-term objectives.
* Lead the sales team, providing mentorship, performance management, and strategic direction.
* Identify and cultivate high-value client relationships and strategic partnerships.
* Oversee and carry out the costing and quoting of steel, aluminium roofs and concrete projects, ensuring profitability and competitiveness are met.
* Drive the development of new focus areas for our established markets, Utilities, Biogas, and Industrial effluent.
* Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline development, and market trends.
* Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.
* Champion the company’s brand and reputation in the UK and international markets.
* Achieve and exceed ambitious sales targets within defined timelines.
* Navigate complex client requirements and tight deadlines.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales forecasts and reporting.
* Manage and develop a highly motivated, efficient and effective sales team.


The successful candidate :

* Proven track record in senior sales leadership roles within the utilities and construction or industrial sectors.
* Strong strategic thinking and business development capabilities.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Deep understanding of construction and utility led related technologies.
* Experienced managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
* Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
* Leadership presence with the ability to influence at all levels.
