Job Description
The Manufacturing Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the production team in a fiberglass manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing production documents, coordinating material movements, and assisting with scheduling to ensure smooth operations within the facility.
Essential Functions
* Must have the ability & willingness to perform at the expected level of attendance at IKO; to work every day, on time, as scheduled.
* Maintain accurate and timely production records, including work orders, material usage, scrap reporting, and labor tracking.
* Prepare, distribute, and file production documents such as travelers, labels, and job packets.
* Enter data into ERP/MRP systems and generate reports related to production, inventory, and quality.
* Track and verify material consumption against bills of materials (BOMs) for fiberglass and resin usage.
* Assist supervisors with scheduling production runs, monitoring progress, and updating completion status.
* Coordinate with inventory control to ensure raw materials (fiberglass, resins, additives, packaging) are available for production needs.
* Support quality assurance by maintaining inspection records and assisting in document preparation for audits.
* Answer internal inquiries regarding production status, work orders, and inventory availability.
* File and organize safety, training, and compliance documents as required.
* Perform other administrative or clerical duties to support production and plant operations.
Beneficial Experience And Skills
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office products.
* Two years’ experience in an administrative role.
Physical Demands
* Occasionally lifts, carries or otherwise moves objects up to 25 lbs or less when stocking office supplies or preparing for company activities.
* Regularly bends, stoops, stretches and reaches to investigate safety-related issues, stock office supplies, etc.
* Frequently moves about the facility to survey plant and associates.
* Regularly operates computer and other office equipment.
* Occasionally attends meetings away from the office.
PPE Requirements
* No PPE required unless working out of the office area.
* In plant area, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields are required.
Education Requirements
* GED or High School diploma required. Associate’s degree preferred.
