About the Opportunity Our client is seeking a skilled CNC Setter / Operator (Turner) to join their expanding production team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and technically competent professional to work with advanced CNC machinery in a precision engineering environment. The role involves setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality components to exact specifications, supporting the business in delivering precision-engineered products to its clients. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce components accurately to engineering drawings and specifications. Run both proven and new programs, adjusting work or tool coordinates as required, and correct any errors. Produce first-off parts to the required quality standards. Perform changeovers between machines when necessary. Complete preventive maintenance tasks to maintain equipment in optimal condition. Support continuous improvement initiatives and undertake any training required to perform duties efficiently. Perform other duties as required to support the production team and overall business objectives. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience operating CNC machines, preferably in turning applications. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Understanding of ISO and conversational machine programming. Familiarity with various machine controls and tool/material behavior during machining. Ability to anticipate potential problems and resolve them proactively. Strong focus on meeting deadlines without compromising quality. Experience with machining complex or fabricated components is advantageous. Awareness of on-time delivery requirements for both internal and external stakeholders.
