Job Introduction
We are searching for an Infrastructure Planning / DCO lawyer to support one of our key energy clients on an initial 3 month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with Planning and DCO experience, particularly in the energy sector.
The role is offered on a day rate basis, inside IR35, so we require the contract to be through and Umbrella company.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise on planning and consenting processes, including compliance with national and local planning frameworks.
* Draft and negotiate planning agreements, option agreements, and related documentation for infrastructure projects.
* Conduct due diligence on land acquisition, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory approvals.
* Support clients through public consultations, stakeholder engagement, and planning inquiries.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project financing, land rights, and consenting strategies.
* Monitor legislative developments in clean energy and aviation sectors to ensure compliance and identify opportunities.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Qualified solicitor with 3+ years PQE in planning law.
* Proven experience advising on infrastructure or energy projects (renewable or clean energy preferred).
* Strong understanding of planning policy, environmental law, and consenting regimes, particularly under the Planning Act 2008.
* Ability to manage complex projects and tight deadlines with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
