A well-established, family-owned organisation in Guernsey is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Fund Accountant to join their specialist Fund Accounting team. About the Role
The Trainee Fund Accountant will assist with bookkeeping, accounting, and reporting for a portfolio of active venture capital funds. Working closely with colleagues, you will help deliver accurate and well-presented financial information within agreed deadlines, in line with company policies and regulatory standards. The position offers exposure to a variety of unique and exciting transactions, ensuring no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
•Undertake training to gain a thorough understanding of clients and fund structures
•Maintain bookkeeping, accounting, and reporting for a tailored portfolio of venture capital funds
•Support Fund Accountants and Senior Fund Accountants with more complex client work
•Assist in producing quarterly management accounts and annual audited accounts under IFRS and FRS102
•Provide timely responses to audit requests and liaise with tax advisors for relevant reporting
•Respond to client queries promptly and manage client mailbox correspondence
•Collaborate with the Fund Administration team to ensure accurate and timely record-keeping
•Attend professional qualification courses and work towards relevant exams
