Senior Practitioner – Fostering Team (Children in Care)
Location: Chatham, Kent (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £45,830 - £51,130 DOE
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence & access to own vehicle
About the Role We are recruiting for a Senior Practitioner to join a Fostering Team supporting children in care and foster carers.
This is an advanced practice role where you will support the Team Manager, provide mentoring and supervision to Social Workers and contribute to service development, safeguarding practice and foster carer support.
You will also manage a small caseload of complex cases while setting practice standards across the team.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting and advising Social Workers within the Fostering Team
Supervising and mentoring less experienced staff
Managing a caseload of complex fostering cases
Delivering training and support groups for Foster Carers
Assisting the Team Manager with safeguarding and service development
Supervising student Social Workers on placement
Deputising for the Team Manager when required
Ensuring children in care receive high-quality support and outcomes What We’re Looking For Essential
Qualified Social Worker
Social Work England registered
Completed ASYE
Post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care
Experience working within fostering or children in care services
Ability to support and mentor other practitioners
Full UK driving licence and daily access to a vehicle Desirable
Practice Educator training (or willingness to complete)
Signs of Safety experience
Supervisory or senior practitioner experience Working Pattern
Hybrid working
Office presence required weekly
