The Assistant Design Manager Role We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Design Manager to support our Design Management Department across a range of residential, commercial and healthcare developments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to grow their design coordination and management skills within a supportive and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in managing and coordinating all aspects of design throughout various construction projects. Support the Design Manager to provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for our clients, sub consultants and suppliers throughout tender and delivery stages whilst schemes are on site. Assist in liaising with Architects, Consultants, Engineers, Contractors, and Suppliers. Support the review of design documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, quality and most importantly, buildability. Provide administrative and organisational support to the Design Manager. Help maintain design management schedules and monitor deliverables whilst on site. Assist the with associated documentation during and following design team meetings. Assist with ensuring compliance with relevant building standards and regulations. Contribute to design issue tracking, drawing registers, and design approval processes. Be involved with design reviews and coordination meetings, providing summarising documentation thereafter. Monitor design team progress against programme, and report to the project team The Successful Assistant Design Manager Role A degree or relevant qualification in architecture, construction management, engineering, or related discipline. A background in Architecture, Engineering or Graduate/Assistant Design Management. Strong organisational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Great attention to detail and problem solving capability. General knowledge of construction build techniques. Proficient in working with and digesting design drawings and documentation. A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take initiative. Ability to use Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Revit is desirable but not essential.
