Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our integrated Mental Health team at HMP Five Wells, a category C resettlement prison in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, housing around 1,687 patients.
In this role you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and will be supported by a second Psychiatrist who is also our national psychiatry lead.
Hours
4 days, 8 sessions per week between Monday to Friday.
This role can be offered as a job share, or if you prefer full time it can be worked across HMP Five Wells and HMP Gartree or HMP Stocken.
Salary
Annual salary up to £196,736 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main Duties
* Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the caseload onsite
* Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
* Work within the multi‑disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi‑professional complex case reviews
Qualifications
* Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
* Specialist registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
* Approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983
* Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
* Up‑to‑date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD
* Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation

This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
