About the Post:
CITB NI is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a full-time Heritage Project Assistant to join their team on a fixed-term basis to assist in delivering the 'Future for Thatch' heritage project. The project will provide training opportunities for four young people in thatching and will engage with primary schools and community groups to explore local vernacular heritage and stories of those who lived under thatch. The Project Assistant will report to the Heritage Project Manager and will assist in the day-to-day delivery of the project.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Project administration, including event organization, responding to queries, procurement, and correspondence with participants.
2. Support social media activities, including drafting and scheduling posts, and creating video content.
3. Develop and support workshops and trips for project participants.
4. Research and develop an exhibition and online StoryMaps.
5. Record historic buildings through photography and video (training provided).
6. Assist in project evaluation and data collection, including feedback forms.
7. Support health and safety procedures to minimize risks.
8. Promote and support the organization's Equal Opportunity policies.
9. Stay updated with role-related competencies and relevant knowledge.
10. Perform any other duties as reasonably required.
Person Specification:
The role involves extensive public engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in heritage, history, or architecture, demonstrated through volunteering, work, or study. The candidate should possess excellent time management, multitasking skills, and strong IT skills, including familiarity with various platforms and technologies for content recording and hosting. Research skills are desirable. Previous heritage project experience is not essential; recent graduates or those seeking a career change into heritage are encouraged to apply.

* Interest in heritage, history, or architecture
* Experience working with the public
* Ability to build effective working relationships
