Our client is looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator to work in the logistics/transport team of a large aggregate supplier, to fulfil internal and external customer orders. It is a fast paced environment working with company drivers, external hauliers, internal and external customers. Experience within a UK transport and logistics environment is essential.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday between 07:00 & 16:30
Reporting to: Logistics Manager / Assistant Logistics Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and scheduling work for vehicles/drivers
Receiving and coordinating customer orders and enquiries
Planning incoming materials, outgoing orders and internal transfers of stock
Utilising the fleet to maximize efficiency of routes and earnings
Sourcing and managing contract hauliers
Administration associated with invoices, vehicle earnings and drivers wages
Safe practices
Managing visitors, all vehicles entering depot
Promoting the core values of the company
Key Skills
Experience of working in a transport / logistics office environment essential
Knowledge of drivers hours regulations and Working Time Directive would be preferential
Able to demonstrate good geographical knowledge (local)
Excellent communication skills
Sound numeracy skills
Proficient use of IT, including Microsoft (Word & Excel)
Preference for experience in aggregate or construction industry
