Job Description
My client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of producing timely management accounts and key financial reports, as well as overseeing day-to-day transactional activities critical to accurate financial performance reporting. This role will cover the company's European entities and newly established UAE entities. Based in Buntingford this is a full-time office based role where you will join a high performing team and business going through a tremendous period of growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations
* Produce monthly management accounts for EMEA entities
* Post and review project revenue and cost accruals
* Manage entries for prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, hire purchase, and tax accounts
* Oversee bank reconciliations and payroll journals
* Input and manage foreign exchange rates within Microsoft Business Central/Eque2
* Reconcile intercompany accounts
* Prepare VAT data for external advisors and review VAT returns before submission
* Close VAT entries aligned with submitted VAT returns
* Review corporate income tax (CIT) calculations prepared by external advisors
* Issue quarterly transfer pricing and sales invoices between related entities
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
* Prepare year-end accounts up to trial balance and coordinate with auditors/FC for statutory accounts
* Review and approve statutory accounts drafted by external advisors
* Support group audits covering all EMEA entities
* Leverage the newly implemented ERP system to drive process improvements and resolve transactional challenges
About You:
* Qualified accountant (AAT, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least 3-7 years of relevant experience
* Strong background in transactional finance, management accounts, and statutory accounts
* Solid understanding of VAT and corporation tax calculations
* Proven ability to support both financial and non-financial teams
* Prior experience working with EMEA entities
* Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
* Meticulous attention to detail and pride in accuracy
* Hardworking, proactive, and confident in meeting deadlines
* Positive, solutions-focused mindset
Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience with Microsoft Business Central (Dynamics) or Navision
* Background in the construction industry, particularly with CIS or RCT
* Power BI or Jet Reports expertise
* Experience designing and implementing efficient financial reporting
* Knowledge of German statutory accounts
* Fluency in an additional European language
