Education Support Assistant – Northern Regional College, Coleraine
Are you passionate about helping students reach their full potential? This is an excellent opportunity to join Northern Regional College as an Education Support Assistant, providing high-quality support to learners on a one-to-one and small-group basis. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to ensure an inclusive, positive learning experience for all students.
About the role:
1. £13.62 per hour
2. Monday to Friday
3. Shifts: Monday & Friday - 10.45am - 4pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 9am - 4pm
4. Part-time, Temporary (until June 2026) with possibility of extension
What you'll be doing in this role:
5. Provide one-to-one and small-group learning support for students with additional learning needs.
6. Help students develop study skills, organisation, confidence, and independence.
7. Support tutors in delivering inclusive teaching across classroom and practical settings.
8. Record and maintain accurate information on student progress, attendance, and support plans
9. Work collaboratively with staff to implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and effective support strategies.
10. Promote a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment for all learners.
What you'll need for this role:
11. GCSE Maths & English (A–C) or equivalent.
12. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline OR at least 12 months’ experience in one of the following: Supporting young people or adults one-to-one in FE/HE or school settings, Supporting individuals with disabilities or learning barriers, Delivering study skills in an educational or training environment.
13. Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Access NI Disclosure Check prior to appointment.
