Pay starts from £12.45 an hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

New colleagues joining us receive a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you would prefer to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

The availability windows show the periods of time in the week we would like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you will have 3 weeks' notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility; if the times you are available to work closely match but do not exactly align with the times advertised, we would still love to hear from you.

You will be responsible for

* Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
* Being passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
* Working across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
* Putting into practice training to work safely, effectively and to serve customers brilliantly.
* Making decisions that are right for customers and delivering routines that meet customer needs at the right time.
* Taking part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating an inclusive atmosphere.
* Being knowledgeable about store performance and the part you play in driving service, sales, reducing waste, and delivering profit.
* Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
* Being yourself, living Tesco’s values, making everyone feel welcome and following policies.
* Occasionally, you may be required to accept deliveries into the store.
