The proposed start date for this post is 1st April 2026 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Lead Physiotherapist or to join our Integrated Stroke Therapy Team. The successful candidate will be part of a large, busy acute and rehabilitation stroke service located in the Primary Stroke Centre at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated individual to provide clinical leadership, enhance clinical activity and maintain delivery of high quality patient care across the Stroke service. You will have extensive experience in inpatient stroke therapy provision, demonstrate leadership qualities and show a passion for the continued excellence in evidence-based stroke care. You will demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills, flexibility and enjoy both teaching and learning. You should be able to work autonomously, making high level decisions in regards to people management, service provision and patient care. The individual will be a resource for disseminating clinical specialist knowledge to the wider team and support professional development to the workforce. The service provides cover 7 days a week from 8-4pm. There is an expectation that the team will be rostered to cover weekends and bank holidays. We have a strong commitment to support all staff members with CPD opportunities. We offer regular supervision and annual appraisal with a regular in-service training programme. Supporting Operational Pathway Lead for specialist area with managerial activities To work collaboratively within the specialist multi-disciplinary team (MDT) within given specialist area To work with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to promote an efficient, effective service for all patients and carers. To bring a therapeutic dimension to the multi-disciplinary team. Focused therapeutic interventions for symptoms and difficulties associated with presenting condition; being guided by current and up to date NICE guidelines. To have a role in the responsibility for the management of patients care pathway through the Service To be responsible for a designated caseload of patients, where you will implement and evaluate treatment plans, and coordinate interventions with the MDT. As a registered Allied Health Care Professional you will assist in the organisation, development, promotion and delivery of the Service To liaise with health, education and social services, working in partnership with primary and secondary carer, social prescribers and other external agencies to ensure the delivery of a high quality service, and facilitate effective discharge from the Service We hold a unique position in the Stockport community as the provider of healthcare and we are one of its largest employers.
