Salary: £47,814.34 - £59,767.92 Dependent on Experience

We’re looking for an Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager to support and guide warehouse operations in a high-volume, time-sensitive logistics environment that services some of the most recognisable names in the food and retail sector.
Role Overview:
In this role, you'll lead a team of managers and operatives, ensuring efficient day-to-day execution of tasks while creating a supportive, collaborative work environment. You’ll be key to achieving performance targets and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards. Your leadership will foster engagement, professional growth, and continuous improvement at every level.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Motivate and lead your team to meet daily output goals and exceed shift KPIs while encouraging empowerment and ownership.
* Coordinate cross-shift planning to maintain consistency and performance, driving operational efficiency and positive culture.
* Ensure seamless shift handovers by capturing key issues, wins, and learnings in real-time.
* Partner with hygiene and reverse logistics functions to maintain a safe, clean, and compliant warehouse environment.
* Oversee and track training programs to ensure skill development and team readiness through a structured training matrix.
* Adapt labour planning to meet business needs during peak periods, supporting multi-skilled team deployment.
* Monitor and control labour costs while balancing team development and morale.
* Step in as needed to support warehouse operations at all management levels, always leading by example.
What You’ll Bring:
* Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced logistics or FMCG environment.
* A track record of successfully developing teams and driving process improvements.
* Solid understanding of compliance, health and safety, and employment regulations in a warehouse setting.
* Confident user of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Outlook.
* Strong communication, coaching, and decision-making skills with a focus on empathy and accountability.
