Employment type: Permanent, Full time 37.5 hours per week
Shift times: Mon-Fri, 8-4 or 9-5 (shifts vary depending on clinics)
Hybrid working available post probation subject to clinics

We’re looking for a Senior Medical Secretary to join our Secretarial team based at the Peripheral Nerve Injury Unit at The Wellington Hospital.
What You’ll Do
* Provide full secretarial support to the Consultant (including audio-typing of clinical/non-clinical material, reports, etc.).
* Manage patient appointments, liaising with patients and hospital staff as required to facilitate this.
* Receive new patient referrals and arrange relevant appointments across various hospital departments.
* Register new patients and ensure all patient records are kept up to date.
* Respond to written and verbal queries from patients and relatives, escalating to the consultants if required.
* Undertake other duties as called upon by the Medical Secretary Manager, Deputy Medical Secretary Manager or Supervisor.
* Liaise with consultants and other secretaries to ensure the smooth running of Out-Patients Clinics.
What You’ll Bring
* Substantial previous Medical Secretarial experience is essential.
* Significant understanding of Medical terminology.
* Strong attention to detail, accurate typing and letter proofreading skills.
* Computer literacy.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Previous knowledge of DGL Practice Manager and Meditech preferred.
