Overview
Lead Licensing Officer – Rate negotiable – 21hrs per week – Hybrid working pattern – Start date ASAP.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Council's licensing function
* Lead risk‑based compliance, investigations and enforcement action
* Conduct inspections of licensed premises and vehicles to ensure compliance with licensed conditions
* Process all types of licensing applications and temporary event notices
* Investigate complaints and support enforcement action where necessary
* Prepare reports of Licensing Sub‑Committee hearings and attend hearings
Essential Skills
* Strong knowledge of Licensing Act 2003
* Experience leading a function, project or service area
* Vast experience in preparing reports and attending Licensing Sub‑Committee hearings
* Knowledge of enforcement principles, investigations, evidence requirements and relevant legal frameworks such as PACE
* Fully qualified to carry out animal licensing inspections
