Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take the lead on cost management across a range ofplex and high-value construction projects. You’ll be responsible for overseeing allmercial aspects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring financial efficiency, risk mitigation, and contractualpliance. Working closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors, you’ll be a key driver ofmercial success and strategic decision-making.Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing the fullmercial lifecycle of projects, including procurement, valuations, and final accounts
2. Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets, and tender documents
3. Leading contract negotiations and ensuringpliance with contractual obligations
4. Monitoring project performance and reporting on financial progress
5. Identifying and managing risks, variations, and opportunities for value engineering
6. Mentoring junior surveyors and supporting team development
7. Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain strong working relationships
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you’ll bring a blend of technical expertise,mercial acumen, and leadership capability. You’ll be confident managing multiple projects, navigatingplex contracts, and driving results in a fast-paced environment.Essential qualifications and experience:
8. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at senior level, within the construction industry
9. Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
10. Excellent analytical, negotiation, andmunication skills
11. Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite
12. Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
13. Ability to lead and mentor junior team members
