Our client are looking for a Floor Manager and a Production Assistant to work on Saturdays in a studio in Rugby, UK. These are part time freelance contracts, so you must be registered as a freelance contractor, or be happy to work via an umbrella company.
Role Overview - Floor Manager
As Floor Manager, you are the glue between production, visual merchandising, and the
on-screen team — ensuring each shoot runs on time, on spec, and without stress. You’ll
lead product set-up and strike, manage the studio floor, and liaise between technical and
presenting teams.
Working across two active studios, you’ll be flip-flopping between spaces as the day
progresses. While one studio films, the other is being reset — so efficiency, attention to
detail, and team communication are key.
Role Overview - Production Assistant
General Support: Assist Floor Managers, Directors, and crew with day-to-day tasks.
Studio Setup: Help prepare sets, move equipment, and make sure the space is ready for filming or recording.
Administrative Tasks: Handle paperwork, scheduling, distributing call sheets, and keeping track of production logistics.
Coordination: Communicate messages between departments, guide talent to the right place, and ensure everyone knows the day's plan.
Errands and Runs: Pick up supplies, transport equipment, or deliver materials.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the physical setup and strike of product sets across two studios
• Work from daily schedules and VM prep sheets to ensure correct styling and placement
• Liaise with Studio Manager and Vision Mixers to keep the day flowing
• Coordinate assistant(s) and ensure all props, accessories, and packaging are returned/stored
• Spot potential delays and escalate issues early to avoid knock-ons
• Maintain a safe, tidy and smooth-running studio floor
Requirements
• Background in live studio or multi-camera environments
• Strong sense of time management and efficiency
• Able to follow brand-led visual merchandising instructions with accuracy
• Calm under pressure; proactive problem-solver
• Previous experience as a Floor Manager, 1st AD, Stage Manager, or Production Assistant in fast-paced filming environments
