Desktop Engineer Location: Cheltenham (On-site) Rate: £250 per day (Inside IR35) Contract: 3 Month Contract Our client, a leading organisation within the technology and infrastructure sector, is looking for a Desktop Engineer to support day-to-day IT operations across a busy on-site environment in Cheltenham. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative technical team, providing hands-on support across desktop, infrastructure, and network environments while ensuring high levels of service delivery for end users. What you’ll do Provide 1st and 2nd line desktop support across Windows environments Support and administer Microsoft Azure services and user accounts Assist with Windows Server maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting Carry out basic networking support including switches, connectivity, and patching Support infrastructure tasks including hardware deployments, device builds, and system upgrades You’ll work closely with infrastructure teams, service desk colleagues, and wider business users to maintain a reliable and efficient IT environment. What we’re looking for Experience supporting Windows desktop environments in a commercial setting Knowledge of Microsoft Azure administration and support Experience working with Windows Server technologies Basic networking and infrastructure support experience Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive and customer-focused approach The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced on-site environment, able to manage priorities effectively, and confident communicating with both technical and non-technical users.
