About the Role
As a Class 1 Driver, you'll play a key role in the smooth, efficient movement of palletised freight across our network. Your responsibilities will include:
* Operating a curtain-side trailer to trunk palletised goods.
* Providing internal trunking support where required, including accurately verifying freight against the manifest at each depot stop.
* Taking advantage of opportunities to gain additional certifications, including LST (Longer Semi-Trailer) during your employment.
* Ensuring all goods are safely loaded, secured, and protected, using straps, nets, and other appropriate securing equipment.
* Completing daily vehicle safety checks via your company mobile device to maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability.
* Maintaining regular communication with the Transport Team, keeping them updated on progress and helping ensure excellent customer service.
* Attending ongoing training and development sessions to stay up to date with industry standards and best practice.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
* Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
* Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
* Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Confident, polite, and a team player.
* Good geographical knowledge.
* Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
