SMQ N Training Officer Responsibilities Deliver Safe Submariners for sea by overseeing the SMQ Dry phase, ensuring trainees are adequately prepared for their continued at sea training. Induct trainees into SMQ to be responsible for issuing Level 2 Administrative Warnings to those trainees who fail to meet the required standard. Ensure full compliance with MOD policy across all aspects of training delivery, instructional standards, welfare provision, and duty of care. Maintain subject matter relevance by liaising routinely with Submarine platforms and appropriate authorities to ensure training content reflects current operational requirements. Represent RNSTC at commonality and awareness meetings, contributing to discussions and decisions on matters related to SMQ. Conduct periodic reviews of Defence Trainer techniques, course materials, and training aids to uphold instructional quality and effectiveness. Provide oversight and day to day management of SMQ instructors and course delivery, ensuring consistency, safety, and instructional excellence. Act as Department Coordinator representing SMQ at RNSTC DepCo meetings to ensure effective two way communication. Responsible for escalating issues through the appropriate chain of command and ensuring relevant information is disseminated accurately and promptly. Report directly to RNSTC XO, with functional responsibility to RNSTC OC, maintaining clear lines of accountability and communication.
