Systems Engineer – IVVQ Manager

Our Opportunity
We have a great opportunity available for a System Engineer IVVQ Manager to join Thales Land and Air Systems (LAS) in Belfast. As a Systems Engineer IVVQ Manager you will undertake front‑end lifecycle system requirements and design tasks, as well as back‑end integration, verification and validation activities across multiple projects at various stages of the lifecycle, including new and existing projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Defining the IVVQ strategy and generating associated estimates and schedule.
* Planning, managing and leading IVVQ work packages (planning, defining, estimating IVVQ resources and activities; managing to plan and budget).
* Defining IVVQ testing methods, acceptance criteria and managing their implementation.
* Providing clear and timely communication of design non‑compliances to the team and wider internal/external stakeholders.
* Leading IVVQ activities on‑site or at the customer premises to deliver evidence of requirements compliance.
* Preparing System Integration Verification, Validation & Qualification activities.
* Analyzing test results and/or data and producing technical reports.
* Being responsible for testing, collating results and evidence.
* Contributing to project Engineering Reviews.
* Highlighting technical risks associated with the IVVQ phase to the SEM and PDA, proposing suitable actions to mitigate and manage IVVQ risks.
* Working with the PDA and Architect to ensure IVVQ aligns with design and is compliant with all requirements.
* Coordinating with test houses and customer ranges to conduct system‑level V&V and acceptance.
* Supporting PDA and SEM to achieve Customer Acceptance.
* Presenting clearly and confidently to internal & external stakeholders.
About You
You will need to be a self‑starter, able to perform job responsibilities with minimal direction, and possess the following experience and skills:
* Experience in an IVVQ role on complex systems development / integration.
* Good understanding of IVVQ strategies and philosophies.
* Detailed knowledge of the various system lifecycles.
* Experience of continuous integration and test activities.
* Experience of formal verification and validation activities.
* Experience of Acceptance Testing for UK Defence suppliers and customers against requirements and compliance matrices.
* Excellent technical writing, communication, analytical skills and command of the English language.
* Effective team player who can interface at all levels across the organisation, working successfully in a multi‑cultural environment.
* Strong organisational and team working skills.
* Excellent customer relationship skills.
* Proficiency with DOORS, JIRA, Vivaldi or other test tools.
* Can‑do attitude, proactive problem‑solving and enthusiasm for learning new skills and technology.
