Investigation and Enforcement Services (IES) directorate aims to deliver and promote a range of investigation and enforcement activities, both civil and criminal in nature, to support fair and open markets. We do this by effectively enforcing the statutory company and insolvency regimes, maintaining public confidence in those regimes, and reducing the harm caused to victims of fraudulent activity and to the business community.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Insolvency Service (INSS) as an experienced senior intelligence analyst to help deliver our aim to tackle financial wrongdoing. There are opportunities to work in locations across England, Wales, and Scotland, delivering analytical support to assist in meeting our three core objectives to: tackle economic crime facilitated through companies, enforce the UK’s insolvency framework and enforce the Companies Acts and associated legislation.

The post will sit within the analytical cadre of the intelligence team, part of the Investigation and Enforcement Directorate of the Insolvency Service.

As a senior Intelligence Analyst, you are required to shape the direction of analysis within the Insolvency Service and support the development of the INSS analytical function.

The post holder will contribute to the National Control Strategy and strategic threat assessment; working alongside key stakeholders to ensure the products drive business and aid in tackling economic crime, enforce the UK’s insolvency framework, the Companies Acts and associated legislation. The post holder will be required to produce ad hoc taskings as needed.

The post holder will champion and lead on the use of structured analytical techniques to enhance understanding of the threats.

The role requires management of both operational and tactical/strategic analysts. This will include engaging with stakeholders both internally and externally to negotiate taskings, providing quality assurance and the responsibility to sign off analytical products produced by the team.

The post holder is required to attend key meetings to support the G7, where necessary and brief key stakeholders on analytical products produced by the team.

The role involves interacting with a wide range of government, law enforcement, UK intelligence community, private and third sector partners to meet business objectives. You will help drive, enhance and improve analytical functions within the business, identifying and promoting good practice in analysis.


Responsibilities

As an SEO Intelligence Analyst, you will:

* assist in developing the analytical function of the agency
* joint responsibility for assuring products
* line management of HEO analysts
* evaluate and assess intelligence from multiple sources, understanding the reliability of each source
* conduct analysis to support law enforcement objectives using appropriate tools, techniques, and systems
* identify intelligence gaps, patterns, relationships, trends, threats, and opportunities, making inferences and developing recommendations
* produce and present analytical products for intelligence purposes to inform operational, strategic and tactical decision making
* produce and present evidential analytical products at court
* deliver briefings and presentations, making recommendations to support the decision making and risk management process
* ensure Continuous Professional Development and capability for yourself and members of staff
* assist with ad hoc tactical and strategic taskings and support the wider analytical team where required. This may require proactive work, using innovative methods to amplify impact against threat areas affecting the Insolvency Service
* be responsible for generating strategic, tactical, operational, and investigative products to a high standard and you will work to the competency frameworks and standards set by both College of Policing and Professional Head of Intelligence Assessment (PHIA).
