Job Description
Marie Curie is launching an innovative new service as part of a system‑wide transformation of palliative and end‑of‑life care in Edinburgh, and we need compassionate, adaptable professionals to deliver holistic, person‑centred care. This 12‑month fixed‑term contract focuses on 7 intermediate palliative care beds, supporting people who need 24/7 care after hospital discharge or admission from home.
Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality nursing care to patients and families in a community‑based setting.
* Coordinate with NHS Lothian, Edinburgh HSCP, and other care providers to ensure integrated service delivery.
* Assist in evaluating the impact of the service for individuals and the wider health system.
* Maintain advanced clinical governance and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
* Demonstrated experience in palliative and end‑of‑life care.
* A holistic, person‑centred approach to nursing practice.
* Excellent communication skills to engage sensitively with patients, families, and colleagues.
* Genuine passion for delivering high‑quality care to those at the end of life.
Salary and Contract
Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 5 (aligned with AFC) £33,247 – £41,424 per annum + enhancements.
Contract: 12‑Month Fixed Term Contract, 30 Hours per week.
Location: Marie Curie Hospice, Frogston Road West, EH10 7DR.
