We are currently looking for a Cleaning Supervisor in Yate, Bristol. The Client is a multi-Academy Trust who needs a Cleaning Supervisors due to expansion in workload. Days of Work: Monday to Friday Hours of Work: 20 hours per week (4 hours a day) 3:30pm start x 40 weeks per year (Term time, plus inset days and 1 week to be worked in the summer holiday Start Date: ASAP Duration: Temp to Perm or Perm The role is looking after a Team of 10, You will work in various locations across Bristol whilst supervising and developing a team of Cleaning Operatives to ensure the highest cleaning standards are always provided. Main responsibilities: * Ensure the campus is cleaned appropriately, by directing staff as necessary to provide a comprehensive cleaning service to include dusting, vacuuming, washing floors, emptying bins, cleaning toilets etc. to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times. * Check the work of the team to ensure a high standard of work is undertaken and maintained by carrying out regular audits. * Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials, re-ordering when needed. Ensure the team has the supplies they require in order to meet the establishment's needs. * Ensure staff maintain equipment that is clean and fit for purpose, e.g. cloths, dusters and mop heads, arranging for replacements as needed. * In liaison with others including the Site Manager and suppliers, test new products and equipment and obtain best value on purchases. * Plan and deliver schedules for more specific needs such as a deep clean timetable fully utilizing quieter periods, and provision for special events such as parents' evenings and commercial functions/ hire. * Thoroughly cleaning areas to the required specification, using correct techniques and cleaning equipment. * To undertake a deep clean, within the holiday period, which includes shampooing carpets, scrubbing floors and walls, cleaning lockers, etc * To provide housekeeping duties to include porterage (replacing consumables in staff and student toilets), cleaning/clearing (staff room). * Reporting immediately to the Site Manager any health and safety matters such as equipment faults, defective electrical sockets, lighting, vandalism etc. * In addition to cleaning tasks, some lifting is required which may include the movement of cleaning equipment and school furniture. You will need: * Experience of managing a team * Experience of carrying out cleaning audits * Previous training / experience relating to Health and Safety within a cleaning environment and COSHH regulations * Experience of general cleaning including furnishings and fittings, carpets and other floor surfaces on a regular basis * Experience of using cleaning materials in a safe manner * Ability to use own initiative as well as working within a team environment * Ability to be attentive to detail * Ability to organise and prioritise work * To have the ability to ensure safe storage of cleaning chemicals, and dispense, dilute and use chemicals in the correct method.
