Purpose: Training Contract
This post is appointed on a fixed‑term basis primarily to provide structured training and supervised clinical development. The postholder will also contribute to service delivery and gain experience aligned with the specialty training curriculum.

Main duties of the job To develop your career in Urology through tailored training, clinical practice, research, audit, and teaching opportunities. The postholder will work with a team of SpRs, post‑CCT fellows, clinical fellows, CT1s, FY1s, and nurse practitioners, and will have exposure to a broad range of urological consultants and subspecialties.
Job responsibilities The successful applicant will engage in operative work, on‑call duties, research and audit activities, and teaching medical students and junior doctors. The role will also involve participation in continuous professional development and study leave as required.
Person Specification Qualifications, Training & Experience
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
FRCS Urology or equivalent for the senior role
GMC registration with a licence to practise
Higher urological training for the senior role
Evidence of research publication in the last 3 years
Sub‑specialist urology interest
Appropriate knowledge base and the ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
Aptitudes and Skills
Evidence and ability to work effectively in multi‑professional teams
Understanding of equality and diversity and how this affects patients, visitors and staff
Evidence and ability to communicate and liaise effectively with patients and colleagues (verbal and written communication skills in English)
Demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
Demonstrate the ability to remain calm, compassionate and respond efficiently to rapidly changing circumstances
Evidence of participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
