What you’ll be doing Provide quantity surveying services, from tender stage through to agreement of final accounts, for a portfolio of new overhead line and substation works across Central and Southern Scotland. Preparing NEC4 tender documentation (typically Option C and E contracts), negotiating tender prices with delivery partners and preparing award recommendations. Preparing monthly valuations and financial reports. Collaborating and interfacing with delivery partners and internal departments, providing expert advice and robust change management. Leading commercial meetings with delivery partners, and ensuring progressive measurement, cost, time and quality agreement, in accordance with the NEC4 contract. Managing early warning and compensation event agreement processes. Agreeing final accounts and reconciliation statements. Contributing to best practice initiatives and collaborating with commercial colleagues. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal procedures. Mentoring and developing junior staff. What you’ll bring Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a background in either consultancy or contracting. Experience of administering NEC3/4 contracts. Strong commercial acumen and a good working knowledge of procurement, change control and cost management. Excellent communication skills and an ability to build strong working relationships, both internally and externally. MS Office suite proficiency MRICS status. (Desirable) Transmission line experience. (Desirable) Minimum Criteria A degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent significant experience of Quantity Surveying in a construction environment.
