Are you passionate about supporting young people in their secondary education journey? Our thriving secondary school in Redruth is looking for a motivated, compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team and help make a real difference to students’ learning and wellbeing.
About the Role:
You will work alongside subject teachers and support staff to assist students in a variety of lessons, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence. This includes supporting students with additional learning needs, managing small group work, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons across different subjects
* Support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
* Help manage behaviour and maintain a focused learning atmosphere
* Contribute to planning and preparation of resources
* Support students’ social and emotional development
* Participate in staff meetings and training as needed
Who We’re Looking For:
* Experience working in a secondary school or with secondary-aged students is preferred
* Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards them
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
* A patient, flexible approach and commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
* Enthusiasm for helping young people achieve their full potential
