About the Role
To provide technical & IT support, assistance and advice to end users in various locations and lead on new IT initiatives. Serve as the technical expert, guiding design processes, resolving complex technical issues, and staying updated on the latest industry trends and technologies. Troubleshooting & resolving complex software and hardware problems in conjunction with existing partner relationships with a strong understanding of design, development, analysis, and testing processes. To lead on the design & implementation of new solutions as agreed with the Business units & in line with the overall Business IT plan. Working as a key part of a growing IT team, there is further scope for career development and involvement in all aspects of core infrastructure systems and other projects.
Responsibilities
* Assist the IT Manager in the full lifecycle management of the design, transition, operation and continual improvement of existing and new IT services.
* Provide support/administration and implementation of new systems within Paralloy, predominantly Windows 10/11 clients and VMware / Windows Server, Active Directory, LAN/WAN, WI-FI, Firewall and SaaS/hosted solutions.
* Ensure IT service availability with effective monitoring and capacity management.
* Act as the business and systems analyst in liaison with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to design and deliver solutions to business problems.
* Identify and articulate opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, business and IT process automation, standardisation and best practice.
* Mentor and upskill junior members of the IT team and provide documentation in the form of models, SOPs, design, build, support and maintenance manuals and knowledge articles to contribute to the ‘shift-left’ approach to service delivery and world class business support.
* Design, installation, configuration and maintenance of IT infrastructure hardware and software to agreed security standards.
* Establish and enforce IT best practices, standards, and security controls to ensure the successful and compliant completion of projects.
* Document existing and new technical and supporting services to an excellent standard within the department’s Knowledge Management process.
Qualifications
* Self-motivated, resourceful and enthusiastic individual with a ‘can do’ attitude and a desire to progress.
* Ability to work both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative and making critical decisions.
* Demonstrated extensive technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop, VMware and Windows Server operating systems.
* Demonstrated extensive technical knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory & Microsoft 365.
* Demonstrated extensive technical knowledge of LAN/WAN, firewall and network technologies.
* Extensive analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues and devise innovative solutions.
* Good organisational, oral and written communication skills with an excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure to deliver a high level of service with professionalism and self-accountability.
