Main duties of the job Ensuring a good standard of quality control during preparations, cooking and despatch of food. This will include documentation of the process in accordance with a safe food system. To prepare special diets. Serving meals and taking of cash for dining room till whenever necessary. Responsible for practising good hygiene in regard to all aspects of the working of a catering department and including the maintenance of a good standard of personal hygiene Assisting with the washing/drying up at lunch time. Ensuring that all freezers/fridges are cleaned and defrosted regularly. To complete food orders when required Assisting with ward stores order. To be responsible for the induction and training of new catering staff and that all training is documented. Responsible for taking receipt of goods and putting away in the appropriate area's Accepting and checking delivery of goods as necessary. The handling of money and filling in the appropriate form. To attend training courses and meetings when required.
