A brilliant opportunity has opened up for a hands:on Production Team Leader to join a privately:owned food processing business in the Coventry area. They supply some of the UKs leading retailers and manufacturers.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Lead, support, and motivate a team of 25:30 operatives in a fast:paced, high:care production environment.
* Take an active role in daily production activities to ensure consistent output and quality standards.
* Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, throughput, and downtime.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on process efficiency and equipment performance.
* Maintain compliance with all food safety and regulatory standards.
* Conduct basic machinery adjustments and maintenance (e.g., film changes).
* Work closely with production planning and management teams to optimise schedules and workflow.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Proven background in food manufacturing, ideally within a supervisory or team leadership role (minimum 3 years).
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, develop, and manage diverse teams.
* Hands:on experience in a high:care or chilled food production setting.
* Food Safety Level 3 qualification (advantageous).
* Track record of progression from operative to supervisor/team leader (highly desirable).
* Comfortable managing teams of 50:80 people in a dynamic environment.
