We are currently recruiting for a Recovery Worker based in Ashford.
About The Role
Working within an integrated healthcare framework, you will provide support to drug and alcohol users aged 18 and over (dependent on service). Services are designed to deliver Psychosocial Drug and Alcohol Interventions for service users identified as having an alcohol or drug problem.
Services will deliver client-centred treatment using both harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches, depending on individual needs. You will manage a caseload, provide harm reduction advice, assess, care plan, and deliver structured 1:1 and group sessions, including structured treatment programmes. Collaboration with services such as Housing, Employment, Healthcare, Probation, and CRCs is essential.
You will contribute to the targets set by Forward and local commissioners, with a focus on measuring outcomes and fostering cooperative relationships with partner agencies.
Flexibility is required, including some evening/weekend shifts and travel to other projects in your cluster to ensure continuity of care for clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement and achieve team objectives.
* Build strong relationships with line management and head office support.
* Conduct assessments to inform treatment, including risk assessments and comprehensive evaluations.
* Deliver interventions tailored to client needs, including 1:1 sessions and group facilitation.
* Coordinate with other agencies, including training, employment, and family support services.
* Work with healthcare providers to monitor and manage client health and risks.
* Develop and support assessment and care plans, engaging with specialist agencies.
* Motivate clients to engage with support services as per their care plans.
* Assist clients with community support referrals, housing, benefits, and employment advice.
Skills and Experience
* Experience in substance misuse services.
* Experience in assessments, risk management, and SMART care planning.
* Experience delivering structured interventions and facilitating groups.
* Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques.
* Strong IT skills.
* Understanding of holistic, community, and continuity of care needs.
* Experience supporting equality and diversity.
Knowledge
* Understanding of issues facing substance misusers.
* Knowledge of the Recovery Agenda and Safeguarding.
Qualifications
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
