Business Development Manager - Cloud Alliances

Location: London, UK (Hybrid – 3-4 days in-office/onsite per week)
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: Competitive Salary + Uncapped Commission + 10% Shares + Benefits (see more below)

We’re now expanding our Revenue team and hiring a Business Development Manager who will drive net-new business through our cloud partners, focusing on pipeline creation, outbound engagement, and converting partner-originated opportunities into revenue.

The Role

We’re seeking a proactive, energetic, results-driven Business Development Manager who can generate and close new business by leveraging our partnerships with AWS and Microsoft. This role is not about managing existing relationships, it’s about creating new ones. You will identify, target and engage customers that align with our cloud engineering, platform, and DevOps offerings.

You’ll work closely with Appvia’s leadership, sales, pre-sales, and engineering teams to build pipeline, shape GTM activity, and position Appvia as the partner of choice for cloud transformation, platform engineering, and developer self-service. This is an ideal role for someone who loves prospecting, selling technical services, and opening doors in the cloud ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities

* New Business Generation
o Drive net-new revenue through outbound activity and partner-led sales motions.
o Identify, research and target organisations undergoing cloud transformation (AWS/Azure) and position Appvia’s services.
o Develop tailored outreach campaigns aligned to our solutions (cloud migration, platform engineering, DevEx, cost optimisation, AI accelerators).
o Qualify opportunities and convert them into high-quality pipeline.
* Partner Engagement (AWS & Microsoft)
o Build and maintain close working relationships with AWS & Azure field sales, partner managers and solution architects.
o Become the “go-to” Appvia contact for identifying co-sell and referral opportunities.
o Ensure partners know what Appvia offers, where we win, and where to position us.
* GTM Execution
o Work with the Head of Sales & leadership to run targeted GTM plays, demand-gen activities, and outbound campaigns.
o Attend industry events, AWS/Azure meetups, and partner programmes to create opportunity.
o Provide feedback to marketing and solutions teams on market needs and competitor positioning.
* Deal Progression & Collaboration
o Own opportunities from initial contact through to qualified pipeline, partnering with pre-sales for solution definition.
o Support proposal creation, commercial structuring, and hand-over into delivery.
o Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM hygiene.

Requirements


About You

You’re a hunter, commercially driven, technically curious, and energised by opening new accounts and driving revenue. You thrive at the intersection of cloud technology and consultative sales.


Essential Experience

* Proven track record in B2B technology/services new business sales (cloud, DevOps, consulting, SaaS or managed services).
* Experience working with AWS or Azure field teams (or selling into their ecosystems).
* Strong understanding of cloud concepts such as:
o Software Delivery Lifecycle
o DevOps & Platform Engineering
o Developer Platforms / DevEx
o Cloud migration fundamentals
* Confident communicator and presenter with strong face-to-face sales skills.
* Demonstrable experience in outbound prospecting, pipeline building, and closing early-stage deals.
* Experience with ARR, upselling, and consultative selling in a solutions/services environment.


Desirable

* Cloud certifications (AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or above).
* Experience generating business in regulated industries (government, finance, insurance).
* A background in pre-sales, cloud consulting, or technical account development.
