Specialist in civil, structural, architectural, geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering offering a one stop service.
Due to growth our client is seeking a senior geoenvironmental engineer for the Northampton office with a minimum of 4 or 5 years' experience.
Responsibilities and duties:
Knowledge and experience of completion of Phase I and Phase II Ground Investigations (Contaminated land and/or geotechnical), gas and groundwater monitoring and soakaway testing.
Working within the Geotechnical and Environmental team the role will be varied and will include, but is not limited to; Working both on site and office based throughout the year.
You will be expected to work on site in varying locations around the UK, to include driving to and from site, and staying away from home as required (expenses covered by our client).
Soil and rock logging to current British Standards. Laboratory scheduling. Participating in a variety of geotechnical and geo-environmental projects for both external clients and for other teams within the organisation.
Collating geological/geotechnical/Environmental data.Writing all types of factual and interpretative Reports (Desk study, ground investigation, earthworks, remediation strategies, CMRAs etc).
Site supervision of ground investigations, earthworks and construction activities. Managing site activities and subcontractors, writing RAMS and liaising with clients. Design, implement and manage ground investigations for geotechnical and contamination assessments
Undertake fieldwork with supervision of various site contractors, soil and rock logging, in situ testing, sampling and scheduling laboratory testing.
Experience of factual and interpretative reporting. Carrying out detailed qualitative and quantitative contamination risk assessments in line with current standards and guidance.
Carrying out geotechnical assessments with detailed technical analysis and interpretation to inform foundation and pavement design, embankments, retaining walls and basement construction.
Liaison with clients, other professionals and regulators such as NHBC, LA, EA and BC.
Production of remediation specifications, verification and soil waste classification.
Mentoring of Graduate Engineers on site and for office based tasks.
Qualifications and training:
As part of ongoing training, you will be encouraged to attend continuous professional development training offered to all employees by both internal and external trainers. Engineers will also be required to attend mandatory training provided.
BSc Geology, Geography, Environmental Science or similar.
Full UK driving license
