This post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated School Nurse with a post‑graduate Specialist Community Public Health (School Nursing) qualification, to join an evolving School Nursing Team in NHSFV.
Responsibilities
* Provide an accessible, appropriate, high‑quality, culturally sensitive, safe, person‑centred and effective school health service in the community, working in partnership with children, young people, families, care providers and other agencies.
* Accountable for case management within a defined caseload, delegating work to family support workers as appropriate.
* Operate an open‑access service to families and communities across home, education, community and primary care settings, promoting a healthy lifestyle within the local population.
* Deliver the ten national priority pathways as set by the Scottish Government.
* Act as the clinical specialist and independent autonomous practitioner within the School Nursing Team.
Qualifications
* First‑level registered nurse.
* Post‑graduate Specialist Community Public Health School Nursing qualification.
* Working knowledge of child protection systems.
* Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery.
* Member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
Benefits
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week; part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
