An established and reputable construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their Scottish team, ideally based in their Glasgow office, though Edinburgh will also be considered. This opportunity has come about due to the upcoming retirement of a long-serving team member, making it an ideal time for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to step into a key role.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor
This consultancy delivers a diverse portfolio of work across the public and private sectors, including residential, commercial, and education schemes. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a leading role in the delivery of projects from feasibility through to completion, working closely with clients and supporting junior staff.
This role would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong PQS background and who is either chartered (MRICS) or working towards it. The consultancy prides itself on staff retention, flexibility, and professional development in a close-knit, supportive environment.
Role & Responsibilities:
Leading cost management services across various construction projects
Preparing cost estimates, tender documents and managing procurement processes
Contract administration, valuations and final accounts
Attending client and contractor meetings
Mentoring junior surveyors and assisting with APC support
Requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Strong consultancy (PQS) background in the UK market
Chartered MRICS preferred (or working towards)
Proven ability to manage projects independently
Strong communication and client management skills
